What is Savant home automation?

We're a certified Savant dealer, which means trained, supported, and accountable for the install.

Can I automate my existing home or only new construction?

Accepted Answer

Both. New construction is easier — we get to bury the wires before the drywall goes up — but we retrofit homes across DFW every week. Savant Lighting, Savant, and parts of the Savant ecosystem are wireless enough to drop into a finished house with almost no construction noise. Your home doesn't have to be torn open to feel new.

What's the difference between a media room and a dedicated home theater?

A media room shares the floor with the rest of your house — a family room with a great display and surround sound, doing double duty for movies, games, and the Cowboys. A dedicated theater is a purpose-built room: acoustic isolation, light control, tiered seating, reference-grade audio and video. One is for everyday. The other is for the Tuesday that needs to feel like a Friday.

Do you install immersive surround sound surround sound?

Yes — and it's our default recommendation for any dedicated theater. immersive is object-based audio: ceiling-mounted or upfiring speakers create a three-dimensional field where sound moves precisely through space. The difference between 7.1 and immersive is the difference between hearing a helicopter and being under one.

How long does a home automation installation take?

Depends entirely on the project. A single-room entertainment system: a day or two. Whole-home automation in an existing home: typically two to four weeks. New construction: we're on-site across the build — pre-wire during framing, trim-out after drywall, programming and tuning right before move-in. Whatever the window is, we tell you up front and we keep it.

Do I need to pre-wire my new home?

Accepted Answer

Strongly yes. Pre-wiring during framing is dramatically less expensive — and dramatically less invasive — than chasing wires through finished walls later. We coordinate with your builder during framing to run Cat6A, speaker wire, HDMI, and low-voltage control to every location that'll ever need it. The cheapest cable you'll ever pull is the one you pull before drywall.

Do you work with builders and interior designers?

Daily. We work alongside many of DFW's top custom builders and interior designers, and the earlier we're in the room, the better the house turns out. Technology gets woven into the architecture instead of bolted on at the end. Our Builder Partnerships page has the details.

Do you provide ongoing support after installation?

Yes — and the relationship doesn't end at the final walkthrough. Every install includes initial programming, testing, and a real hands-on training session. After that, we offer ongoing support that includes remote monitoring, priority service scheduling, firmware updates, and tuning the system as your life changes. When you call, you reach someone who already knows your house.
