Home Automation Plano

One platform that holds a mature estate and a brand-new build in the same hand

(817) 965-1042

A Plano home that lives in two eras at once

Plano tells two stories at the same time. Willow Bend, with its mature oaks and the kind of estates that were built when J.C. Penney moved south. And the Tollway corridor, where Avignon and the newer custom builds rose alongside Toyota's arrival. We design for both — and increasingly, for families who own a piece of each. The original house in Deerfield with thirty-year-old wiring. The new build going up off Communications Parkway. One Savant platform, one app, the same evening routine from one address to the next.

Tell us where the seams are. The lighting protocol the original electrician chose in 1996 and the contemporary LED driver going into the new construction. The legacy alarm panel and the modern access control. We sit with your builder, with the original GC if they are still around, and with you at the kitchen table in Shoal Creek. Then we plan a single Savant backbone that respects the bones of the older home and gives the new one infrastructure it will never outgrow. One backbone, drawn to last thirty years.

Who We Help in Plano

  • You, in Willow Bend, with an estate from the 1990s ready for its second technology life
  • You, building new in Avignon and tired of disconnected smart devices speaking different languages
  • You, raising the next generation in Deerfield with parents and in-laws nearby on the same platform
  • You, in Kings Gate, who want one app to handle the original house and the addition you just finished
  • You, in Shoal Creek, who would rather invest once than chase the next gadget every winter

How We Do It in Plano

A walk through both stories of your Plano home — We map what the original builder left behind and what the new addition needs. We listen to how you actually move through the house in the morning.

A meeting with your contractor or remodeler — If you are building or renovating along the Tollway corridor, we coordinate with your GC before drywall to plan conduit and runs that respect both the old and the new.

A single Savant blueprint for the whole property — Every keypad, every zone, every legacy system we are retiring or absorbing — written down so you see exactly what is going in and what is coming out.

Structured cabling, woven through the old bones — We pull new runs through attics, soffits, and existing chases in Willow Bend or Deerfield without tearing into finished walls. Where we have to open something, we patch it back so you cannot find the line.

Hardware install and Savant programming — Morning, Away, Entertain, Family Movie, Goodnight — scenes tuned to your household, not a template that came in a box.

Two training sessions, parents and kids — We teach the adults at the kitchen table and the older kids in their own rooms. Documentation in plain English. Priority support afterward.

The Frustrations We Hear Most

  • The original Plano build wiring will not speak to the new addition's smart panel
  • The 1996 lighting protocol has aged out and replacement keypads are no longer made
  • Five different apps for HVAC, shades, security, music, and the front gate
  • The corporate Zoom upstairs lags whenever the kids start streaming downstairs
  • You inherited four legacy systems with the home and no documentation for any of them

When the System Stops Listening

  • The whole platform stopped responding the morning of a corporate dinner
  • The original Plano electrical system tripped the new Savant panel offline
  • Front gate access stopped working and the housekeeper cannot get in
  • A firmware update broke the link between the legacy alarm and the new automation

The Questions People Actually Ask.

My Willow Bend home was built in 1994. Can it be brought current without a remodel?

Yes. Most homes from that era in Willow Bend have generous attic access and original chases we can reuse. We pull new low-voltage runs without opening finished walls, and where the original lighting protocol has aged out, Savant wireless keypads carry the rooms we cannot rewire cleanly.

We are building new in Avignon. When should you be involved?

Before drywall, ideally before insulation. We coordinate with your builder during framing so conduit, structured wiring, and equipment closet space are part of the original plan. Retrofitting a finished Avignon home costs three to four times what pre-wire does.

Can the older Plano house and the new build share one app?

They can. We have done it for families who kept the original Deerfield home and built a second on the Tollway corridor. One Savant account, two properties, the same scenes and the same support line for both.

What about the existing alarm and HVAC we already have?

In most cases we absorb them rather than replace them. Modern Savant integrates with the major Plano-installed HVAC and alarm brands. Where the legacy gear is past end-of-life, we say so and replace only what genuinely needs to go.

Technology should enhance
the way you live.

One house. One system. One team that listens — in Plano and across DFW.
